Princess and the Potty

I just have to take a moment to brag on our blog...that's what this is for anyway, right?! Well, we bought our little sweetie a cute little potty since she has been pointing to her diaper so much lately. We had it for about five days but she was not a fan of it in the beginning (must be the ice cold seat on her little warm hiny). But just five days later, she was in our bathroom leaning against our potty and pointing to her diaper and saying her "uh, uh" words. So I asked her, "Do you need to go potty?" She shook her head yes, did a little jig with excitement, and headed to her potty. Now her potty is clear across the house in her bathroom. I figured before we could even get there, she would have caught her eye on the toy basket, her riding car or the remote control and completely forget about needing to use the potty. But she kept on going, straight to her bathroom. It took a minute to get her pants down and diaper off (no pull-up cause we just weren't expecting this) and though it had been several minutes since she mentioned she needed to go, she still went tee-tee in the potty! I may have frightened her a bit with all my excitement! We high-fived and fist-bumped to celebrate a little more! Yeah for our little 18 month old! She even did it a second time for her Dad to witness! We were just so proud of her! Sorry, no pictures with this one, a girl must have her privacy! :)
Now she doesn't seem to be a big fan of it after that day, so we are open to any suggestions you pro-moms might have to mastering potty training! Thanks so much!!

Cute Stuff

She loves playing in bed before and after her naps!

You know we're in West Texas when your one year old knows how to eat a burrito!

The things we love about our little Avery:
She's a great sleeper, which makes for happier, more patient parents!
Still two naps a day plus 10 or so hours a night!
She eats like a champ and even uses her fork or spoon and no longer wants help even when eating Malt-o-Meal (you can imagine the mess!).
She's learning to talk...today she learned please and down and can also say dad, dog, momma!
Most words, even please, start with a "D" but we know what she means! And most of the time I'm still called "dah"! Don't know where that one came from?!
She signs more, eat and please which all usually end up getting her food! She knows what she likes!
She's loving and generous with hugs and kisses! So sweet! She attacked a four year old in the store the other day and didn't care that that girl wasn't hugging her back!
She likes to tickle our feet and say "deedeedee" which means tickle, of course!
Lots of personality! Avery is a sweet, good girl and we love watching her learn and play!
Saying her new words, deas (please) and down! Plus a little tickle action!

I was resting on the couch when Avery came over and kissed me on the forehead! She even made the myaah, kiss sound, then wiped the slobber away! It was so sweet, we made her do it a dozen times more!
