What a week!! Our little Avery turned ONE last Thursday, August 6th! A whole year has already passed in her little life! It is so hard to believe she has changed so much from the little 6 pound 9 ounce, 17 1/2 inch long new born to this (still) red-headed, precious little girl bubbling with personality! We had a wonderful celebration with a whole lot of family and a few friends! Plus there were four generations of family on both sides! Avery loves a crowd so she didn't fuss once the entire day eventhough she had woken up several hours earlier that morning plus she only took an hour long nap before her guests arrived! I was worried but she did great! She played well with her cousins and friends though a few cousins were missing. She patiently "opened" all of her toys with alot of help from her mom and dad. She didn't even mind the help from the other kiddos! I was surprised to find she was actually more interested in the gifts themselves rather than the wrapping paper and bows! She was quite the little lady when it came time for the cake! She didn't just dive in or even try to throw any in the floor. She would mash a finger in here and there, take a few small bites then hand the rest to me. She must know mommy doesn't like a mess! After the cake eating event she didn't even need a bath so we moved on to more playing with her new toys and guests! She was a sweet girl and didn't mind being passed around amongst the family all day! There was no need for clowns (which I would never have anyway! Scaaaarrryyy!) or pony rides at this party 'cause Avery WAS the entertainment! She pulled out all of her tricks for her guests including taking several steps in a row mulitple times, blinking and coughing (0n demand) and clapping and smiling! This was truly a blessed day and one that we will remember and be proud of for years to come!
